The decision by the Obama Administration to leave America’s borders wide open and actually encourage illegal children from Central America to pour into the country earlier this year may have been the cause of the EV-D68 enterovirus epidemic, which infected thousands of U.S. children and left dozens stricken with polio-like paralysis.
Several top health officials have publicly admitted that multiple strains of the virus appeared simultaneously in different locations throughout the country, matching the pattern of entry of the Central American children. Genetic and statistical evidence also suggest that the viruses may have originated well beyond the southern border, a consequence of Obama’s loose open-borders policy.
Nora Chapman, an enterovirus scientist at the University of Nebraska, told The Daily Caller that federal researchers would still need to test the genetic fingerprint of the EV-D68 strains that are circulating to determine whether or not they match the type that is prevalent in Central America. But according to the news source, there is already more than enough statistical evidence to substantiate a link.
According to the official count, nine people, including three American children, tested positive for the virus, while 50 additional children succumbed to polio-like paralysis that some experts say is directly linked to the virus. Hundreds of U.S. children were also admitted to hospital emergency wards and intensive care units in more than 40 states due to apparent symptoms.
