A corporate poll reveals more than seven in ten Americans believe the U.S. will send ground troops to Iraq and Syria.

The results from an NBC/Wall Street Journal/Annenberg poll were posted over the weekend. The survey shows 45 percent of respondents favoring the use of troops if military commanders deem it necessary while 37 oppose sending American troops.

An overwhelming number believe it is inevitable the government will send ground troops to battle ISIS. 72 percent believe American troops will be used while 20 percent think this will not happen.

A survey conducted by CNN/ORC reveals similar results. It also shows that while a majority of Americans support air strikes in Syria and Iraq, they are opposed to sending ground troops.

Members of the military also do not support sending ground troops. Seven out of ten of more than 2,200 active-duty respondents to a Military Times poll oppose sending U.S. ground troops back into Iraq to battle the Islamic State, USA Today reports.
