Border staff are ‘unprepared’ for killer Ebola virus as UK battles to keep disease out
UK BORDER staff are ill-prepared to deal with the deadly Ebola virus, union leaders have warned, as fears escalated about the threats posed by the world’s worst outbreak.

Today Sierra Leone declared a state of emergency as the spread of the disease showed no sign of slowing down.
Yesterday British officials admitted Ebola could pose a threat to the UK if travellers arrived from West Africa.
Immigration officials would be the first to deal with those people but they said they are not confident they would know what to do if they suspected someone of carrying the killer disease.
Immigration Service Union general secretary Lucy Moreton told BBC Radio 4’s The World Tonight: “They serve on the front line; they are the first point of contact usually for people coming off an aircraft and the concern is what do they do if they’re confronted with someone that doesn’t appear well who appears at the border.
“There is no health facility at the border, there is no containment facility and until extremely recently there has been no guidance issued to staff at all as to what they should do.”
