Are the worst effects of that devastating spill just around the corner?

Scientists gathered in Collier County tonight giving us a look at the possible long-term impacts…

Many in Naples are now turning to world renowned scientists to find out whats in store for our beaches.
Dr. Roni Avissar with the University of Miami says: We are absolutely in that limbo area…

What they do know is just because surface oil is not on our beaches doesn’t mean we are in the clear…

“There is a large amount of oil, we don’t exactly now how much of it, that has been released at different depths in the water”…

The doctor said some of that oil will be transported throughout the Gulf once it gets picked up in the currents…

“It’s very possible that something will reach the East Coast and the West Coast of Florida.”
