CONAKRY, April 30 (Xinhua) — By April 28, 121 Ebola cases had been confirmed, including 74 deaths, in different treatment centers set up by the Guinean government and its partners who include the World Health Organization and Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

Statistics presented on Tuesday by Guinea’s Health ministry show that ten patients are currently hospitalized, 4 in Conakry and 6 in the southeast town of Guekedou.

During a press briefing in Conakry, Guinea’s Health Minister Remy Lamah said measures had been taken to treat patients who had contracted the virus and to continue sensitization of the population on individual as well collective preventive measures.

At the same time, through funding from the Guinean government and the country’s technical health partners, drugs and protective kits have been distributed to health workers and vulnerable populations in high risk zones.
