Currently the Western United States, from California all the way to the heart of Texas, is in the middle of one of the worst droughts in quite some time. If the extreme drought in the Western United States keeps going, our nation’s food supply could be in for some serious trouble. In fact, trouble may already be brewing.
Because of the drought conditions, and an increasing demand for organic food, organic food shortages are being reported all over the country. And to make matters worse, the size of the U.S. cattle herd has dropped to a 61 year low.
The guys over at Free Legacy Food sent me an interesting infographic that addresses a number of the problems we’re facing.
