Aggressive strain of flu affecting young adults; so far two deaths reported in Lehigh Valley

This year’s aggressive strain of influenza has targeted younger people and is responsible for 58 deaths across Pennsylvania — two of which were reported at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill.

Neither the federal government nor New Jersey track the number of adults who die each year from influenza, but health departments are reporting that the virus is considered widespread in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
