Some recent stories have come to my attention and it is worth noting that the “preppers” shouldn’t be the only ones aware that storing food, buying seeds to plant, stocking up on the basic necessities and not just the items that are expected to rise significantly, is key to surviving the upcoming massive increase in food.
For example, not only beef, cereal, chocolate, wheat and wheat flour based products, nuts and honey, but the items needed to cook with like sugar, salt, cooking oil, shortening, baking soda, corn starch, vinegar, which are needed in many cases to cook and preserve foods.
These are actions forecasters are encouraging due to the present economic situation, but also due to severe weather in different parts of the US and globe, including the drought in California ruining their crops, the severe cold along the east.
Most importantly, if as many believe the dollar is going to collapse between 2014 and 2015, the warnings of how much prices will increase due to the aforementioned reasons, will be nothing compared to how high food prices will actually get.
As has been pointed out over at a Q Alert, we are talking prices doubling and perhaps tripling in 2014.
