We Really ARE Sheeple

Many readers have expressed their astonishment over the seemingly bizarre apathy of their friends and family who seem to be living in some kind of trance state; happily unconcerned about the encroaching chaos of the world around them. They pooh-pooh warnings about the impending collapse of the dollar, citing the rising stock market as some sort of proof our economy is improving.
Although a great number of folks don’t like our current President, they seem determined to remain ignorant of just how many Constitutional rights have been stripped from us these last four years. They give no thought to the rising police state or how our leaders, elected to represent what WE want in our government, are steadfastly refusing to hold anyone accountable for the treasonous behavior being committed right in front of our collective faces.
Even the breathtaking fall of the moral climate in America doesn’t seem to penetrate very far into most people’s psyche. They are content to live their normal lives; get up, get the kids ready for school, go to work, come home, eat dinner, watch TV, go to bed, rinse and repeat.
We can shout all the warnings, and print out hard copy proof of the perilous times in which we’re living but the information does not seem to sink in. It rolls off most people like water off a duck. It’s frustrating to say the least, and I know hundreds of you understand what I’m talking about.
The single most frustrating thing I see is the glassy-eyed contentment of the congregations in our churches today. They put on their pretty dresses and suits, pin a new ribbon in little Susie’s hair and put in the obligatory hour on Sunday mornings, thinking they are good Christians because they gave an extra five bucks in the offering this week.
