* AT 659 PM CST…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL…AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED 21 MILES WEST OF PIERRE PART…OR 13 MILES NORTHEAST OF JEANERETTE… AND MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IT HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS IN ST. MARTIN PARISH.
