Birther Controversy Back In spotlight As Arpaio Demands Obama Draft Card
Sheriff says Obama Selective Service System registration is also likely forgery
March 22, 2012
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the law enforcer leading an independent investigation into the authenticity of the latest release of the Obama birth certificate, has thrust the issue back into the media spotlight by asking for the aid of the U.S. Selective Service System.
“On March 1, 2012, a press conference was held (see video above) in which I announced the initial findings of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Posse investigation,” Arpaio writes in a press release.
“Among the findings is not only the President’s birth certificate a likely fraud, but furthermore, there is probable cause to believe that the Selective Service Registration card on file and allegedly submitted by Mr. Obama on July 29, 1980, was also a forgery.”
“While my office will continue pursuing this investigation, I have spoken of the need to enlist the aid of other agencies,” Arpaio noted.
“As a first step to that end, I am now requesting the assistance of the U.S. Selective Service System asking them to conduct a concurrent investigation to verify the authenticity of this document.”
