When I read a story yesterday about an 89-year-old woman being water-boarded by nursing home staff over an argument about ice cream, I knew something terrible was amiss across the American landscape. I watched all this with a sense of sadness and disgrace for the human race. And then a realization hit me like a sledgehammer…
