The father-of-four from Cardiff was arrested for attempted murder at the scene and taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.

He is believed to have grown up in Weston-super-mare, Somerset.

Scotland Yard raided a home in Cardiff on Monday in connection with the attack, which injured nine people and left a man dead at the scene in Finsbury Park.

Police are said to have swooped on Osborne’s home, in Pentwyn.

A neighbour spoke of their shock after seeing Osborne’s photo.

They said they returned home to find their street crawling with police.

A 47-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning on suspicion of attempted murder.

He has been further arrested on terror charges, including the suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of terrorism.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said the Finsbury Park incident was “quite clearly an attack on Muslims”

She said: “This was quite clearly an attack on Muslims who looked like they were probably Muslims and they were coming from a prayer meeting.
