South Korea announced its new piece of kit yesterday as war fears ramp up between US President Donald Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.

Kim’s army carried out the largest ever firing drill today in a chilling waring to the US — amid fears a nuke test is on the horizon.

North Korea has vowed to leave “no man alive” as the US sends its biggest nuclear sub to the Korean peninsula.

But South Korea’s army hopes its new equipment, worth around $47.7million (£37.7million) , will help stop Kim in his tracks.

The country’s arms procurement agency said in a statement: “In recent tests it met all of the required operational capabilities of the military. It has been assessed to be fit for combat use.”

According to South Korean news agency Yonhap, the truck-loaded radar will be positioned immediately in case of an upcoming attack.

It can detect howitzer, mortar or rockets attacks from the south, as well as pinpoint where they have been launched from.
