Invited by Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel to attend a international women’s summit on entrepreneurship in Berlin on Tuesday, first daughter and Trump administration staff member Ivanka Trump received poor treatment from the crowd.
Eliciting boos, groans and hisses at the event was Ivanka’s suggestion that the President supports families.
Other high-brow invitees to the W20 Summit included Queen Maxima from the Netherlands and the International Monetary Fund’s Christine Legard.
For her part, classy Ivanka kept her cool at the event, relating graciously to Merkel and other attendees, and choosing to reflect on her father’s support of her on an equal basis with her siblings:
““He encouraged me and enabled me to thrive,” she said. “I grew up in a house where there was no barrier to what I could accomplish beyond my own perseverance and my own tenacity. There was no difference between me and my brothers.”
