Kim is becoming “increasingly paranoid of an American attack” and there are fears he could strap a nuclear warhead to an intercontinental missile and strike American soil.
Nikki Haley, US ambassador to the United Nations, an organisation President Trump today accused of standing idly by as Bashar al-Assad allegedly gassed his own civilians, hinted the Republican may launch a pre-emptive strike of his own.
When asked what would happen if North Korea tests another missile or nuclear device, Ms Haley told NBC: “I think then the President steps in and decides what’s going to happen.
“You can see he’s starting to get very paranoid…and we need to keep the pressure up.
“The United States is not looking for a fight – so don’t give us a reason to have one.”
Vice President Pence was rushed from his tour of Asia to be by President Trump – he had to cut his state visit short citing “challenging times”.
