A hacker claiming to be from the vigilante group Anonymous took 20 per cent of the dark web’s websites offline.
The attack targeted more than 10,000 dark web sites that were selling or sharing child pornography.
The dark web is often associated with criminal activity and illicit content such as infamous online drug market Silk Road.
