‘We’re going to have Brexit!’ French voters hope for Frexit as ‘clever’ Le Pen tops polls
MARINE Le Pen’s “clever” political tactics have helped her win support ahead one of the most uncertain presidential elections for decades, a leading French political journalist claimed on Newsnight.

With the latest Ifop opinion polls showing Le Pen has 25 per cent of the vote, the National Front leader has been praised for her rhetoric which is helping increase support in a divided France.
On Monday evening’s Newsnight, one Le Pen supporter – seen sporting a Ukip ‘vote leave’ badge – said: “We’re going to have Brexit, like the English!”
Meanwhile, when asked about whether the French people like President Trump’s, one woman replied: “Yes of course! Because what is Mr Trump doing? He’s doing something we’re not use to in Europe.
“He does the things he was elected to do.”
Journalist Christine Ockrent told the programme: “The Front National has been in our politics for 34 years – they have never managed to win a major election.
