‘If the press were honest, which it’s not, I would absolutely not use Twitter. I wouldn’t have to’
His tweets reach 20 million people, something top adviser Kellyanne Conway calls ‘the democratization of information’
Ordinary Americans, she explained, can ‘get the same information as the big fancy networks and cable stations, at the same time’ without ‘filter’ or ‘jaundice’
Trump cited the case of Democratic Rep. John Lewis, who claimed incorrectly that his boycott of Friday’s inauguration would be his first
‘It turned out to be a lie. So I’m able to say that,’ Trump insisted

Donald Trump said in an interview broadcast Wednesday morning that he’s actually not fond of using Twitter, and would quit it completely if reporters covered him honestly.

But the president-elect insisted that tweeting is the best club in his bag of tricks when he wants to side-step ‘dishonest’ media coverage and speak directly to the American people.

Asked by Fox News Channel anchor Ainsley Earhardt if he’ll continue to tweet after he’s sworn in as the 45th president, Trump said he would – but with some regret.

‘Yeah, he mused. ‘Look, I don’t like tweeting. I have other things I could be doing.’

‘But I get very dishonest media, very dishonest press. And it’s my only way that I can counteract [it].’
