Distressing footage has emerged of police in Kansas tasering a screaming 91-year-old Alzheimer’s sufferer who died months later.
Ottaway County Undersheriff Russ Thornton was filmed discharging his stun gun at the distressed man then handcuffing him on the ground as he writhed around in agony.
He and a colleague had been called to Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Minneapolis, where the man, who is known only as Lee, lived after receiving reports he had assaulted another elderly resident.
They were trying to coax him into coming with them to a doctor’s appointment when the incident occurred in March.
