Residents in Saint-Hilaire-du-Rosier, a southern village in the Rhône-Alpes region, were woken by a man, or gang of men, unleashing volley after volley at a proposed migrant reception centre.
The attack came just 24 hours after an identical attack on a proposed centre in in western France which was also hit by an unknown gunman on Tuesday.
The new incident, which took place on Wednesday, saw the shelter’s shutters were riddled with bullet holes, and the windows completely shattered. A bright orange anti-migrant slur was also found scrawled on some of the roads leading to the reception centre.
