The shooting reportedly happened in the car park of the airport, which serves destinations including London Heathrow.
Miami-Dade police detective Marjorie Eloi told the Miami Herald there was a series of gunshots before a single shot was fired.
The first fatality was described as a man in his late 50s or early 60s who was found on the floor of the car park with several body wounds.
The second was a man in his 40s or 50s with a single gunshot wound to the face who was found slumped against a car.
Airport spokesman Greg Chin said the men were two of the airport’s 30,000 workers.
Footage from an overhead helicopter showed one of the bodies covered by tarpaulin.
Police are still investigating the incident inside the car parking area for employees of the airport.
It is believed the first man was shot before the suspect turned the gun on himself.
