Police in Columbus, Ohio, are hunting a gunman who fired a high-caliber rifle at officers last night amid fears that it was a targeted attack similar to those seen in Baton Rouge and Dallas.
An area just north of downtown was sealed off around midnight after shots were fired on Windsor Avenue.
A message was posted around midnight on the scanner of the Columbus Police Dispatch saying: ‘Officers under attack from rifle fire.’
The gunman had fired at several buildings and cars and when officers arrived at the scene they too were targeted.
