Russia building hypersonic nuclear bomber to reach other side of the world in TWO hours

RUSSIA is preparing to unveil a hypersonic stealth bomber capable of reaching such high speeds it could reach a target ANYWHERE in the world within two hours.

PAK-DA, which could take to the skies as early as 2020, would be able to launch atomic weapons from space and strike locations in a fraction of the time taken by conventional long-range bombers.

The aircraft, which will be unveiled to the world at a military event near Moscow in September, has a distinctive swept-back wing and insulated nose cone to protect it from the high temperatures experienced during re-entry.

Colonel-General Sergei Karakayev, commander of Russian Strategic Missile Forces, said: “The idea is that the bomber will take off from a normal home airfield to patrol Russian airspace.
