This is the moment Secret Service agents shot a gunman outside the White House after he strolled up to the gate holding a pistol.
Jesse Olivieri, of Ashland, Pennsylvania, was hit once in the stomach on May 20 at the security checkpoint after he repeatedly ignored commands to drop the silver .22 caliber Ruger handgun.
The Secret Service says he told an officer after he was shot that: ‘I came here to shoot people.’
Video from a Secret Service surveillance camera shows the 31-year-old strolling past parked vehicles with the weapon clearly visible in his right hand.
