Kurt Russell has said the Founding Fathers had a ‘very strong reason’ for the Second Amendment during his latest appearance on The View.

The Hollywood actor defended the right to bear arms following a heated debate in another interview where he claimed that it was ‘absolutely insane’ to think that gun control could have stopped terrorist attacks such as the San Bernardino massacre.

Russell had been talking to Hollywood Elsewhere to promote Quentin Tarantino’s new film The Hateful Eight when he launched into a long rant on guns and terrorism, saying that stopping people on ‘no-fly’ lists from getting hold of guns would leave people unable to protect themselves.

Russell, 64, blasted the reporter who suggested it was easy for terrorists to get hold of guns, simply replying: ‘What are you gonna do? Outlaw everything?’

The Hollywood star gave a more tempered response when he appeared on ABC’s The View yesterday after he said he had been ‘ambushed’ by the reporter’s question.
