As we move deeper into the 21st century, more Americans than ever have become acutely aware that there is something wrong with the country.

That conclusion was reflected recently in a survey in which nearly three-quarters of Americans said they don’t believe their country is “great” anymore – a central theme of Donald Trump’s candidacy.

Bloomberg News reported:

Americans are “fed up” with politics, suspect the wealthy are getting an unfair edge, and think the country is going in the wrong direction, according to a new Bloomberg Politics poll that lays bare the depth and breadth of the discontents propelling outsider candidates in the Republican presidential field.

One major reason for all of this frustration is that Americans believe the ruling elite has established two distinct classes in the U.S.: “them” and “the rest of us.” It’s also worth noting that the rules don’t apply to both classes equally.

Case in point: As reported by AllGov, executives with General Motors are going to avoid taking any legal responsibility for the deaths of 124 people that were caused by faulty ignition switches on GM vehicles. Instead, GM will have to pay a fine of $900 million. Although that sounds like a lot of money, keep in mind that this is a multi-billion dollar corporation whose executives remain alive and well and earning seven-figure salaries.
