Kremlin Warns NATO Against Further Advance Toward Russian Borders

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow regrets plans announced by the Ukrainian leadership to continue its course on NATO accession.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Any NATO advancement toward the Russian borders will prompt Moscow to take counter-measures to ensurer the country’s national security, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

“We must not forget that NATO is an organization that has been created during the time of confrontation and for confrontation, that’s why it cannot change its nature,” Peskov told reporters in Moscow.
