Columbo Considers the 9/11 Myth
You really can’t put a lot past Detective Columbo. He doesn’t believe every slick story he is told. He wonders how it fits together and asks about the details while mumbled “very interesting” and “hmmm.” Sometimes he slaps his head in a self-depreciating gesture and asks for clarification: “I’m sorry but I just don’t understand. Do you mean …..”
Invariable the story crumbles under his relentless clarification of the details.
Well detective, I’d like you to meet Professor Philip Zelikow, the principle myth-writer of the 9/11 story and an expert in the use of myth to shape public policy. Would you look at the story he has provided us?
1. The largest structural failure in the history of our planet occurred that morning. A 100+ story building flew apart into small pieces of steel and clouds of dust as it stood in the air. It did not fall over or collapse. It violently disassembled. Allportions of the building disassembled, including areas far above and far below the jet impact site. The parts just flew outwards until there was nothing left.
