The stock market crashed in 1929, which was 3 yrs before he was born, and the economy began to recover in 1938 when he was only 6 yrs old. I was born in 1964. It would be like me saying I grew up during Beatlemania at its peak. Sure I was alive then, but I don't remember it as I was too young as was Derry even though he would never admit it. If he lied about something as trivial as his "growing" up during the Depression, what other lies was he spewing on his radio show? I always turned my radio off as soon as I could during his show, yet I still heard him make this claim. I am glad to know I will not have to turn off my radio any longer!
