Infowars.com
September 10, 2010

Over the Labor Day holiday, so called “moderates” (confused if they are neocons or liberals) threw around the name Hillary Clinton. Considering the dismal performance of Barry Obama, these folks believe the Dem side of the One Sided Party should run Hil for command-in-chief teleprompter reader.

I kid you not. This is how deluded some people are.

A certain journalist at the New York Daily News made this psychological condition obvious on Wednesday when she wrote: “Sure, I’m a Republican who can hardly be trusted to offer objective advice to Democrats I’ve long lambasted. But believe me when I tell you, two years of Obama has even me seeing Clinton in a much different light than in 2008, when I thought the only thing worse than a new President named Obama was another one named Clinton.”

The con game works like a charm. Thanks to a few months of Barry the Bumbler — it’s all in the script — she is ready to swallow the Clinton jive hook, line and sinker.

There ain’t a lick of difference between Hillary and Barry. Both are globalist tools. Both are here to fool you into thinking that it means something when you go into a computer hacked polling place and cast your ballot.

As the late Carroll Quigley noted, “the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can throw the rascals out at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy. Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party, which will be none of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic policies.”

Same thing for intra-party squabbles. The electorate is mostly putty in the hands of the globalists. Obama’s a failure, so Dems should get Hillary in there. It’s all musical chair for our rulers.

Speaking of globalists, Hil ventured over to her one of her favorite haunts the other day, right down the street from the State Department, the offices of the Council On Foreign Relations.

Fresh food that lasts from eFoods Direct (Ad)

She talked up world government and the United Nations. Lately the UN has taken on new importance in the minds of the elite. It is in the process of getting a new spit shine. Expect to hear more about it in the weeks ahead.

Here’s Clinton. Substitute the phrase “American leadership” with “leadership by the globalist cabal” and you’ll get a good idea of what she’s talking about:

Well, you can’t be too surprised that Dow Theorist Richard Russell is gloomy. That’s his thing, but you have to give him credit, he has a way with words.

In his latest weekly commentary, which is excerpted at King World News, he declares the impending death of Fiat Money, and thus an ensuing boom in gold.

He writes:

In the big picture, I believe we’re going to put fiat money to the test. Fiat money allowed the US to experience boom. Fiat money produced the tech bust, the equities bust and the housing bust. Fiat money is the vehicle that is created and sponsored by the world’s central banks. Fiat money will prove to be a fraud.

Out of the graveyard of fiat money will emerge real intrinsic money — gold. But gold’s time has not yet come. The gold bull market is a very strange bull market. It’s a bull market that has progressed without the participation of the US public. That will change. When it comes, we will finally experience the speculative third phase of the gold bull market.

Back in May, Russell encouraged his newsletter readers to “sell everything” on the grounds that you wouldn’t recognize America by the end of the year. So there’s about four months to go on that prediction.

Earlier this week we asked, can the economy really recover when 92% of the population says the economy is garbage in a survey? That was the number in a WSJ/NBC poll, and it would seem to indicate a major headwind in terms of sentiment.

Here’s more of what the average guy thinks, and it’s bad.

Felix Salmon points to a survey from a group called StrategyOne. The main findings — most Americans think a double dip is coming, many think it will be worse than the first recession, and the majority of Americans think the country is fundamentally broken.

So again, can America possibly recover with people this gloomy.

Here’s part of the announcement

Almost half see America’s ‘best days’ behind us, 7 in 10 concerned country is ‘fundamentally broken and not working’

CuttingEdgeNews.com

Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi’s visit to Rome was to mark the second anniversary of his country’s renewed bilateral relationship with Italy, which had once occupied the North African nation. However, at an August 30 lecture in the Eternal City, he appeared to offer Libyan husbands to the hundreds of women assembled to hear him while also calling upon Europe to convert to Islam.

Approximately 500 young women were hired and paid by an agency to attend Gaddafi’s lecture. Mostly students who hire themselves out to advertising and publicity firms, the women were paid approximately $100 each, while women who gave their names to the press were not paid. The women were instructed to dress modestly for the Muslim ruler of Libya, even while they were not required to wear scarves or hijab. Another 200 women attended a second lecture held at the Libyan embassy.

Women attending Gaddafi’s lecture said that he claimed “women are more respected in Libya than in the West” and offered to serve as a matchmaker in finding them Muslim husbands in Libya. Qaddafi , who has several wives and numerous children, added “Islam is the last religion and if we are to have a single faith then it has to be in Mohammed,” according to a participant.

The Libyan’s words apparently caused some discomfiture to the government of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The Italian leader’s political opponents offered stinging criticism of the visit. Former health minister Rosy Bindi said that Gaddafi’s lectures were “a new, humiliating violation of Italian women’s dignity,” while European MP Mario Borghezio of the Northern League party said “Gaddafi’s words show his dangerous Islamization project for Europe.” A Berlusconi spokesperson scoffed at the criticism and said that Gaddafi’s words were merely “a remark made during a private meeting.”

Berlusconi and Qaddafi met on August 29, confirming that Libya will open itself to Italian investment. Relations between their countries has long been rocky. Italy occupied the oil-rich North African nation from 1911 to 1943, when it was liberated by Allied forces. Following their meeting, the two leaders toured an exhibition tracing the history of the relationship, including the bloody colonial period. Qaddafi seized power in 1969 and has ruled ever since as the “Brotherly Leader and Guide of the Revolution.”

Stepping into one of the most contentious issues in Italy – immigration – Qaddafi suggested, with Berlusconi at his side, that the European Union should pay Libya “at least five billion euros a year” to halt illegal migration from his country. Efforts by the Italian navy to control the flow of immigrants arriving by sea has been met largely with failure. Qaddafi advised that the payoff by Europe would to stem “the advance of millions of migrants” from Africa. Berlusconi, however, said that improved relations with Libya has served to counter the flow of illegal African immigrants controlled by criminal organizations.

A friendship agreement signed by Italy and Libya has been fruitful: Italy is the third largest European investor in Libya. Italy will invest $5 billion and build a 1,050 mile highway in Libya as compensation for its bloody colonial rule. The two countries also reached an agreement that allows the Italian navy to intercept illegal migrants at sea and return them to Libya, bringing a sharp rebuke United Nations’ refugee agency and human rights groups.

Gaddafi travelled, as usual, with a Bedouin tent for his accommodation which was pitched in the gardens of the residence of the Libyan embassy in Rome. On his first such visit to Rome, he pitched his tent at the Villa Doria Pamphili park. As a sign of protest against this second visit, an opposition party planted a “tent of legality” in front of the Libyan embassy.

Hudson-NY.com

The real issue behind the controversy that has erupted over plans to build a 15-story cultural center, mosque and madrassa a few yards from Ground Zero is not only about the mysterious funding behind the Cordoba Center initiative, or whether or not its founders and backers have malign intentions. It is primarily about understanding how Muslims across the world, in particular Islamists, would view the conversion of the site of the greatest Muslim attack on U.S. soil into a Muslim house of worship. Given the long history of mosque-building following Muslim military victories, the building of the Cordoba House on Ground Zero will be seen in the same light as the Muslim conquests of Mecca, Jerusalem, and Constantinople. Whereas Americans hope that the attacks on New York City and Washington are seen as the clarion’s call for aggressive American action to counter Islamist ideology, the construction of the Ground Zero Mosque will be seen by the same Islamists as its first step towards the decline of America.

Bin Laden and his Islamists would love nothing better to plant the flag of Islam in the cultural capital of the West. This would not be read in the Muslim world as a sign of the West’s tolerance, but of its weakness. In its long history of conquest, Islam has habitually converted the sacred shrines of its enemies into mosques and madrasas. A cursory look at the world’s most famous mosques lays bare the fact that many were former houses of worships of defeated enemies.

Apostasy killing of former Muslims could become widespread in the United States if the U.S. government and Americans don’t “wake up,” a panel of three former Muslims said on Capitol Hill Thursday.

The talk, hosted by three members of the new civil rights organization Former Muslims United, marked the first public appearance as a self-proclaimed “apostate” of Iranian journalist Amil Imani, one of the founders of the group. Imani and the panel’s two other speakers, authors Nonie Darwish and Wafa Sultan, told the audience that ingrained American religious and ethnic tolerance and myths about Islam are combining to gravely threaten the West.

“Shi’a radical Islam and Wahhabism is coming to this country,” Imani said. “There are 6,000 mosques in the United States now. All the money [we] put into gasoline comes back here and is used in the teaching of hate, violence, etc., etc.” in American mosques, he said.

Taming the Tea Parties

by Paul Gottfried
LewRockwell.com

GOP regulars and their movement conservative drones have been sending signals for some time now that they wish to have the Tea Party be nice. While David Frum and David Brooks have generally followed the Left in condemning these “extremists,” Bill Kristol, George Will, Jonah Goldberg, and Rich Lowry have taken a gentler approach to the problem. Goldberg praises Glenn Beck and those who attended his Washington rally for being inspirational by invoking Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement. Never mind, as Al Sharpton correctly noted, that King held social and economic views that were diametrically opposed to those of his effusive admirers Beck and Sarah Palin. For Goldberg and Geraldo Rivera on Fox, the reaching out at the rally to civil rights images was what counted.

Some of this conciliatory talk was followed in National Review by Rich Lowry on September 3, who seemed to be stroking the monster. Lowry characterizes the Tea Party insurgency in the GOP as a “bourgeois revolt.” For the most part its activists wish to go back to the pre-Obama American “dispensation.” They are seeking nothing more cataclysmic than getting the country “back to its typical level (of spending) in recent decades, roughly 20% of GDP.” These mostly good folks wish to return to the “constitutional limits that obtained during most of the country’s history,” and from which we strayed under the present Democratic administration.

All of this is rank nonsense. Federal power has been exploding for decades under Republican as well as Democratic administrations. And it is not at all clear that what George Washington or even Dwight Eisenhower understood as “constitutional limits” on federal power were the ones that still existed under George W. Bush. What Lowry and his crew really want is to neutralize the Tea Party. They wish to see it work for Republican elections and then behave in a “sober” fashion, by allowing the party regulars to take over once the GOP scores big in November. With some luck we may be able to return to that movement conservative-GOP highpoint in human history, the presidency of George W. Bush under the stewardship of Fox-contributor Karl Rove.

LRC is under attack. Of course, this is nothing new. Certain oil oligarchs have hated the site since Burt Blumert and I started it more than twelve years ago. They’ve gone so far as to hire people to attack it, and me, and Ron Paul, the man who says LRC is “the first thing I read in the morning.” But then, men powerful enough to enrich themselves through the Fed can’t stand Fed critics, especially Ron. They actually tried to give orders to him – and me – but we wouldn’t be their liveried servants, on central banking, war, civil liberties, or anything else. So they swore enmity, for themselves and their minions. As Murray Rothbard, their real pet hate, once put it, “Billionaires live in a world of yes-men. They can’t stand to be told no.”

With your help, we will never obey the plutocrats. Thank goodness for the internet. In the old days, we had to depend on tiny circulation paper publications. Now we can potentially reach every single person interested in freedom, peace, and sound money. And we are touching the hearts and minds of millions.

But speaking of enmity, our old friends the neocons are still active against anyone who refuses to bend the knee to perpetual war in the Middle East. They have their usual army of smear artists, but their libels are increasingly ineffective. It’s like being denounced by the (diminishing) NY Times. No honest person pays attention.

This summer, however, there were two new assaults, which cost a lot of money to fix. The first was an attack on LRC’s small donation system, resulting in thousands of phony gifts that outraged the poor people whose names were used, and their card-issuers. We fixed it, and have prevented such a hate-scam in the future, but it was costly.

At the same time, we were caught in the crosshairs of the copyright snipers. All of a sudden, thanks to a giant, Obama-connected law firm, what had been legal “fair use” on the Internet became a crime. We were threatened by huge fines and the obliteration of the LewRockwell.com URL. But that wouldn’t have been necessary. The fines would have taken care of us.

Thanks to extremely smart legal advice, and the intercession of a great libertarian writer, we escaped. But we had to spend a lot of time and money going through the entire archives of LRC to make sure we would not be vulnerable in the future. It’s amazing just how much good material we’ve been able to publish! It’s an online library of liberty, all free, for everyone all over the world.

To keep that free library open and growing, won’t you help? Please make a donation to LRC. You will poke a sharp stick – metaphorically speaking! – in the eye of every Beltway statist and neocon warmonger, every media liar and cable foamer.

Here is what the enemy fear most: all the young people of the sort I hear from every day, who tell me they used to be neocons or National Review conservatives, and whose eyes were opened to the true nature of the state, thanks to LRC. The Rothbard-Ron Paul movement is full of such kids. They won’t have the wool pulled over their eyes ever again. They want the truth. They are hungry for the truth.

Won’t you help LRC stay alive and fighting? Please make a donation. It would be so great to have your help. And it is so needed.

Increased government regulations and meddling is resulting in the destruction of the middle class. If you are part of the favored elite, things are just fine. If you are savvy, you can still do well, but for the person who simply expects to climb step by step via salary to a better life, things are not so good.

Michael Snyder has put together a list of the changes that indicate the middle class is shrinking. Note that much of the shrinkage of the middle class comes in sectors where the government has put in programs to “help”:

• 61 percent of Americans “always or usually” live paycheck to paycheck, which was up from 49 percent in 2008 and 43 percent in 2007.

• 66 percent of the income growth between 2001 and 2007 went to the top 1% of all Americans.

• 36 percent of Americans say that they don’t contribute anything to retirement savings.

• A staggering 43 percent of Americans have less than $10,000 saved up for retirement.

• 24 percent of American workers say that they have postponed their planned retirement age in the past year.

• Over 1.4 million Americans filed for personal bankruptcy in 2009, which represented a 32 percent increase over 2008.

• Only the top 5 percent of U.S. households have earned enough additional income to match the rise in housing costs since 1975.

• For the first time in U.S. history, banks own a greater share of residential housing net worth in the United States than all individual Americans put together.

• In 1950, the ratio of the average executive’s paycheck to the average worker’s paycheck was about 30 to 1. Since the year 2000, that ratio has exploded to between 300 to 500 to one.

• As of 2007, the bottom 80 percent of American households held about 7% of the liquid financial assets.

• The bottom 50 percent of income earners in the United States now collectively own less than 1 percent of the nation’s wealth.

• Average Wall Street bonuses for 2009 were up 17 percent when compared with 2008.

• In the United States, the average federal worker now earns 60% MORE than the average worker in the private sector.

• The top 1 percent of U.S. households own nearly twice as much of America’s corporate wealth as they did just 15 years ago.

• In America today, the average time needed to find a job has risen to a record 35.2 weeks.

• More than 40 percent of Americans who actually are employed are now working in service jobs, which are often very low paying.

• For the first time in U.S. history, more than 40 million Americans are on food stamps, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture projects that number will go up to 43 million Americans in 2011.

• Approximately 21 percent of all children in the United States are living below the poverty line in 2010 – the highest rate in 20 years.

• Despite the financial crisis, the number of millionaires in the United States rose a whopping 16 percent to 7.8 million in 2009.

• The top 10 percent of Americans now earn around 50 percent of our national income.
