Seattle streets have emptied out as Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Facebook tell employees to work from home, as the number of people infected with coronavirus in Washington soars to 103 and the state’s virus death toll reaches 16.

The particularly hard-hit state now has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the US, as well as the highest death count.

Normally busy streets near Amazon’s headquarters were pictured Friday, nearly deserted during what would ordinarily have been rush hour traffic.
