With big, bold letters Netflix announces the coming of their new series ‘MESSIAH’, but one look at the main character tells you right away that while he may be a christ, he is absolutely not Jesus Christ. The unnamed character in ‘MESSIAH’ is dark and foreboding, with a sinister glint in his eyes, so much so that many who have watched the trailer have posted comments asking if his right eye goes blind in future episodes. Why would they ask that? Because that is a hallmark of Antichrist.

In fact, the ‘messiah’ in this new series doesn’t look Jewish at all, he looks like a Muslim, and as you begin to understand what Netflix has done here, the connection to Islam is at once sudden and stunning. Students of the Bible will recall that God has His Christ, or Messiah, and is called Jesus Christ throughout scripture. But the Devil also has his christ, or messiah, which the Bible calls the ‘son of perdition’ and Antichrist. That’s why when I hear people talking about having “faith in christ”, I always respond by saying, “which one?” That’s why lost people like satanists, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Muslims can use the term ‘christ” all day long, but mention the Name of Jesus and it’s WWIII.
