Harrowing footage captures the aftermath of a devastating shooting that has left at least two students dead and 14 others injured after a gunman opened fire at a homecoming party in Texas.

Emergency services were called to The Party Venue in Greenville, near Dallas, where an estimated 750 Texas A&M University-Commerce students were celebrating coming back to school.

Video taken in the wake of the attack shows scenes of chaos, with students on the floor dead or injured, while others try desperately to help their dying friends.

A manhunt is now underway for the shooter who remains at large, police have confirmed. They still do not know who he is and they do not have a description for him.

The motive for the shooting is unclear, but authorities were working under the theory that the shooter may have been targeting just one person at the party and that others were just randomly shot, Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said.
