FBI Director Christopher Wray rebuked the President criticism of “dirty cops” in the FBI brass plotting to remove Trump from office in an attempted coup.

Director Wray spoke at the Council on Foreign Relations Friday to discuss the FBI’s role in protecting the US from global threats.

A person in the audience asked Wray about the phrase “dirty cops” used by Trump to describe crooked FBI officials.

“To what extent has the bureau been damaged by this — If it has, how would you assess the impact that it had on the bureau?” a woman in the audience asked Wray.

“So this is a topic near and dear to my heart — I would tell you that rumors about damage to our morale or brand or anything else are grievously overstated,” Wray said, add that he’s been to all 56 field offices. “The feedback that I get from our partners is that the bureau has never been stronger and better.”

Wray continued, “We’re not focused on the rhetoric, we’re focused on the work, we’re focused on who we do it the work with and who we do the work for.”

Wray’s remarks Friday were the first he made since Mueller’s report was made public.

Wray also made the ridiculous claim that the Russian ghosts that Mueller indicted (who will never see the inside of a US courtroom) will probably end up in orange jumpsuits one day.

“We find that a lot of these folks like to be able to travel and once they’ve been indicted their travel options get decidedly smaller,” Wray said of the Russian GRU officers indicted by Mueller. “And the FBI has a long memory and a broad reach – and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of these people in orange jumpsuits one day.”

President Trump this week blasted the dirty cops in the FBI in a pair of tweets.

“The Mueller Report, despite being written by Angry Democrats and Trump Haters, and with unlimited money behind it ($35,000,000), didn’t lay a glove on me,” Trump tweeted Tuesday. “All of the Crimes were committed by Crooked Hillary, the Dems, the DNC and Dirty Cops – and we caught them in the act!”

Instead of acknowledging that top officials in the FBI such as Peter Strzok, Andrew McCabe and even former Director Comey plotted to remove President Trump in an attempted coup with illegal CI investigations, Wray says Trump’s criticism is just rhetoric.
