Colorado adopts ‘red flag’ gun law to take guns away from those deemed a ‘threat’ — sheriff says he will not enforce it
New controversial gun law now on the books in Colorado is already causing an uproar after a local sheriff who respects the U.S. Constitution has agreed to not enforce the law whatsoever.

(INTELLIHUB) — Colorado became the fifteenth state to adopt a ‘red flag’ gun law on Monday which allows individuals to be flagged by household members or acquaintances who file a court order much like a restraining order deeming the person a threat which will subsequently lead to that person getting raided by police for complete disarmament.
However, Eagle County Sheriff James Van Beek is taking a stand and says he will not enforce the law which he feels infringes upon the rights of the citizen a little too much.
“I just became very concerned because of the whole way they went about it,” the sheriff told Fox and Friends on Monday morning. “It was supposed to be for mental health — it was supposed to be for taking care of people and at least in my opinion they went about the process totally backward.”
“They went after peoples rights… in a manner that … didn’t give them due process,” he explained. “To me, there wasn’t any kind of due process.”
