A coalition of concerned parents is quickly forming in Central California, where local students and teachers alike are reportedly developing cancer at alarming rates. The cause? According to these parents, at least, it’s a cell phone tower on the campus of Weston Elementary School in Ripon, near Modesto, that’s constantly blasting insane amounts of cancer-causing radiation into the bodies of everyone near it.

First it was one child. Then it was two. Then it was four, along with three teachers, which eventually prompted a conversation about the giant, multi-story, metallic elephant in the room: that unsightly cell phone tower that parents say needs to be moved somewhere else as soon as possible.

During a recent board meeting held at the school, parents demanded that school administrators take action immediately. Others indicated that they’re no longer going to allow their children to attend classes until something is done with the tower.

“We had a doctor tell us that it’s 100 percent environmental, the kind of tumor that he has,” stated Monica Ferrulli, whose son Mason is one of the students at the school who was recently diagnosed with cancer, to CBS Sacramento.

School officials claim tests conducted on cell phone tower prove that it is “safe”

In a prepared statement that was pre-written before this latest school board meeting even took place, board president Kit Oase told concerned parents that tests supposedly conducted on the tower show that it’s operating “normally within safety standards,” to quote The Modesto Bee.

But this prepackaged rhetoric only enraged some of the parents further, including Ferrulli, whose son had to be treated for brain cancer back in 2017.

“It is just denial,” Ferrulli is quoted as saying about the school board’s insistence that the cell phone tower is safe, citing what she says is “obsolete” research conducted by the American Cancer Society (A.C.S.).

Richard Rex, the parent of another student at Weston, feels much the same as Ferrulli. He and his family live right across the street from the school, and his 11-year-old son developed a strange bump in his abdomen roughly a year ago, which he believes was caused by the tower.

After visiting a specialist, the child, named Brad, was diagnosed with liver cancer – the “bump” on his abdomen having been identified as a tumor that was “wrapped around his liver.”

“They said they can shrink it and cut it out,” Brad’s father told local media. “They’re also talking liver transplant. It is very scary.”

Will “March For Our Lives” start a campaign against cancer-causing cell phone towers?
