Russian admiral claims hypersonic missiles can strike US mainland within FIVE MINUTES
RUSSIA can fire unstoppable hypersonic missiles capable of destroying US military command centres within five minutes, an admiral has warned.

Retired rear admiral Vsevolov Khmyrov claims nothing can stop Russia’s Zircon hypersonic missiles penetrating “any” defence system protecting the US mainland.
Khmyrov suggested the US may decide to send missiles to Europe after US president Donald Trump withdrew from a key arms pact, the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.
Fired at an estimated speed of 9 Mach (6,900mph), Zircon missiles will “ensure the capability to strike key control systems” and “command centres” in the US, Khmyrov said.
“Such a hypersonic system as Zircon penetrates practically any air defense and missile defense system,” Khmyrov told reporters on Thursday. “There is no protection from it.”
He said two or three Russian vessels with 40 Zicron missiles on board could be put on “combat duty” in the West Atlantic and East Pacific.
His sobering warning came after Russian president Vladimir Putin threatened the US with an array of strategic weapons, including “invincible” hypersonic missiles.
In his annual state address, Putin said he will be forced to take “reciprocal measures” should the US deploy missiles to Europe.
“Let them calculate the range and speed of our weapons systems,” he said. “Only then should they make decisions that pose a serious threat to our country.”
