ORLANDO International Airport is on lockdown after reports a “gunman” entered the terminal building causing a mass “stampede” as terrified holidaymakers fled to safety.

The major US airport’s gates one to 59 have been put on lockdown as cops swoop on the security alert.
Witnesses have reported two “loud pops” before a mass stampede of people ran screaming from the securty screening area.
“This man was very near the TSA screening machines, in line, when he began acting extremely erratically, and two loud pops were heard.
“Everyone began to stampede and run from the screening area, into the secure area, and back out of line toward the exits.
“TSA was extremely efficient in acting with the PD to eliminate the threat.
“People were quickly taken to parking garages and other areas for holding.
“TSA is now resetting the ENTIRE secure area and rescreening EVERYONE, before they’re allowed to head back to the flight gates.”
The holidaymaker said people are “extremely shaken” and some are “hiding on trams and in bathrooms”.
Karla Alexander was at the airport to see her parents off on their outgoing flight.
She said everything was “chaos and desperation” during the incident.
“My parents were right there at the checkpoint, they had to run to the Seaworld store to be safe,” Alexander said.
“As other people ran to other stores there, they allowed people in and immediately closed their doors to keep them safe.”
