Having just returned from a trip to Africa, the outspoken actor Stefan Sauk says that he is starting to see some similarities between his homeland and the large southern continent.

In a video clip on his Facebook page, he explains that Sweden, several months after the election, finally has got a “new” government.

One thing he reflects upon is that after elections in African countries there is often a fuss about who has won and whether the election was rigged or not.

Whoever holds the power in Africa tends to become despotic and prioritise power over the well-being of the country and its people.

Getting hold of the “jam jar”, and charing it with close friends (other politicians) is what matters, he says.
Nepotism permeates the state, there and here, he continues. The dismissal of government officials with objections to the policy pursued is very common.

As an example, he mentions Stockholm’s transport director, professor Jonas Eliasson who was fired after criticizing the implementation of environmental zones in Stockholm.
The actor also claims that the dangerous combination of power and inadequate competence exists both in Sweden and Africa.
