Thomas Haldenwang replaced the former head of the German Secret Service Georg Maassen, who was forced out in November. Maassen had refused to put the the Alternative for Germany (AfD) under surveillance, but under Haldenwang, the German Secret Service is now actually considering putting AfD under surveillance. The reason, according to the co-chair of the AfD faction in the German Bundestag, Beatrix von Storch, is accusations of “anti-democratic behavior.”

These accusations were completely unfounded; they stem from a “quote in which she said ‘Hate is preached in mosques against our system of government, against Jews and Christians. Mosques need to be observed by the Secret Service.‘”

Von Storch argues that she was “appealing to the Secret Service to do something about anti-democratic sermons and calls to hate against Christians and Jews in mosques,” but instead, her concerns were (as usual) turned around on her, and now she is the one being called “undemocratic.”

Yet von Storch, who is also co-founder of the Friends of Judea and Samaria in the EU Parliament, is correct. Muslims should not be using mosques to engage in political warfare against Jews, Christians and democratic governments, but they do. And instead of focusing on protecting Germany and democratic values, the Secret Police under Haldenwang has shifted Germany’s priorities to align with Sharia. Haldenwang’s force is now, like many others, acting as Sharia police.

“A journalist from the not very AfD-friendly pubweb WDR wrote that preaching hate against Jews and Christians is very common in mosques…Jews in Germany are suffering more and more attacks by Muslims” and are “scared to wear their yarmulkes in public.
