Ebola is the new ‘normal’ – Warning disease becoming permanent fixture
EBOLA will soon become a fact of life for millions of people, it has been dramatically warned.

At least 600 cases of the killer virus have been confirmed in the Democratic Republic of Congo since August, the World Health Organisation confirmed yesterday.
This makes the outbreak the second largest on record after the death toll surpassed 400.
And now it has been warned the disease may become a “normal” part of life for millions of people.
Ebola expert and former senior fellow for global health at the Council on Foreign Relations, Laurie Garrett, said the virus is showing no signs of disappearing.
Writing for Foreign Policy, she said: “The sheer duration of the present epidemic means that the 4.5 million people in the currently affected North Kivu province of Congo are no longer the only ones in danger.
“The rest of the country and populations in the bordering nations of Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Burundi are now at risk, too.”
Her warning comes just weeks after Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director, Robert Redfield, warned the disease could become entrenched.
Predicting a time when the disease could not be brought under control, Mr Redfield said: “I do think this is one of the challenges we’ll have to see, whether we’re able to contain, control and end the current outbreak with the current security situation, or do we move into the idea that this becomes more of an endemic Ebola outbreak in this region, which we’ve never really confronted.”
