On Sunday an overhead power cable was found damaged on a railway track in Berlin. On Tuesday German police report the finding of an Islamic State (IS) flag with a text in Arabic close to the railway track.
Investigators are trying to determine if the propaganda was linked to the damage caused to the train’s overhead contact wire. As well, they are trying to maintain if the perpetrators were politically motivated.
Police stated that, “since the beginning of the investigation, several pieces of evidence have been secured,” adding that a torn steel cable and the damaged overhead contact wire were found at the train track on Sunday.
There was a temporary disruption to local train services and the train operator informed police of the damage.
