Hurricane Michael path: STARK warning to Floridians – ‘Do NOT try to ride this one out’
HURRICANE Michael is continuing to rampage its way towards the Florida panhandle as a Category 2 Hurricane – Florida Senator Bill Nelson has warned residents they should not try to “ride this out” and to heed evacuation orders.

Hurricane Michael’s devestating force has meant a state of emergency has been declared in 35 Florida counties as the category two storm is due to bear down on the state’s panhandle.
CNN reporters said that hurricane force winds could be felt as far as Tallahassee – meaning the devastation of brought by the storm will not be limited only to coastal areas. Hurricane Michael could bring howling winds of up to 129mph, enough to tear roofs from homes and pose a serious threat to life and personal safety.
Speaking to CNN, the Florida senator urged local residents to listen to officials to to heed mandatory evacuation orders and not attempt to see out the storm in their homes.
Mr Nelson told Florida residents: “As I was in the panhandle in Panama City and Tallahassee yesterday. My warning is the same today.
“Heed the advice. Panama City is under a mandatory evacuation order.
“A lot of those coastal counties have given mandatory evacuations.
“Don’t think you can ride this out if you’re in a low lying area. Listen to the local law enforcement and heed their warning.”
Hurricane Michael is on a trajectory which will see the major storm batter the US’s southern states just a month after hurricane Florence.
