LONDON BLOODBATH: Woman stabbed in broad daylight in Islington – man arrested

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman in her 20’s has been stabbed in broad daylight in North London.

The woman was stabbed in the chest on Caledonian Road in Islington, North London at about 10:15am.

Police and at least two ambulances are on the scene.

The woman has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, according to the Met Police.

The Met Police tweeted: “Police in #Islington are at the scene of a stabbing at 1020hrs today in Caledonian Road, N1. A woman, aged in her 20s, has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. No arrest at present. Cordons in place. Witnesses pls call 101 ref CAD2686/sep01.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 10.16am, there were a number of calls to us reporting a stabbing incident.

“We sent a number of vehicles and our first ambulance arrived on the scene at 10.24am.”

TfL have diverted multiple bus routes in both directions on Caledonian Road.

TfL Bus Alerts tweeted: “Routes 17 91 259 are diverted in both directions in Caledonian Road N1 due to a Police incident.”
