Simonne Samantha Kerr was found with a knife wound at a flat in Grayshott Road after police were called to the property.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after the attack.

Paramedics and air ambulance crews battled to save her life for more than an hour but the 31-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ms Kerr featured on the ITV talent singing show as part of the NHS choir B Positive, which made it through to the final of this year’s competition.

The choir was made up of staff, donors and patients from the NHS Blood and Transplant unit and lost out on first place to comedian Lost Voice Guy

The mum-of-two worked as a haematology and oncology nurse at Guys and St Thomas Hospital in south London.
