The Senate Judiciary Committee under the direction of Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) held a hearing Tuesday on ICE and family detention centers.
Democrats are very upset that families who enter the US illegally are broken up. Democrats are always supporting their constituents in the illegal alien community.
Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) played the fool at this hearing.
The Hawaii liberal did not appear to know why illegal aliens are illegal.
During her questioning ICE Exec. Associate Director Matthew Albence had to explain to Mirono why illegal aliens are deemed illegal.

Matthew Albence: No maam, they’re for violation of Title 8 of the US Immigration and Nationality Act. OK, US 13:25. Illegal entry is both a criminal and civil violation. They are in those FRCs pending the outcome of that civil immigration process. They have broken the law.
Sen. Hirono: Well, these are mainly… My understanding is that under zero tolerance these are no longer civil proceedings but in fact criminal proceedings.
Matthew Albence: They are criminal proceedings when the border patrol prosecuted them. But at the conclusion of that process, once the individual came into ICE custody they would go through administrative proceedings.
Sen. Hirono: I’m confused.
