During the night between Saturady and Sunday, 18 more cars and a construction engine have been burnt in Nantes, AFP reports.
The killing of Abubakar Fofana, a criminal under an arrest warrant who tried to flee arrest, has now sparked five consecutive nights of total anarchy, violence, and lootings in the city in western France.
The rioters don’t seem to stop as 18 cars and a construction engine have been burnt in Breil, the Nantes suburb where Fofana was killed.
Since the beginning of the riots, more than 80 cars, shops, public libraries, an apartment building and high schools, have been reduced to ashes.
Dozens of young men have been arrested since the beginning of the violence, several were teens. One of them arrested on 6 July, is a 14-year-old who was about to light a fire with an oil jug.
