Sweden’s PostNord will no longer deliver packages at certain Malmö addresses, because it is too dangerous, newspaper SVT reports.
The company told the Swedish newspaper the risk of robbery and assault is too high in some areas in Malmö.
Sylvia Ziegler recently waited for a package delivery by PostNord. But it was never delivered at her address. She lives in Augustenborg, which is adjacent to Malmö’s multicultural problem area Seved.
“We are not all criminals here, what happens next; will the ambulance not come if I get a heart attack?” Ziegler tells SVT.
PostNord’s Regional Manager, Anita Nilsson, says “the risk of a chauffeur with a package is greater than that of a postman; it is about robbery and assault. The manager has a safety and health responsibility and that is what this is all about”.
