A new ad from the Republican Party slams Democrats as ‘unhinged’ and features anti-Trump images and statements from Kathy Griffin, Madonna, comedian Samantha Bee, Democratic lawmaker Maxine Waters, and others.
Called ‘The Left in 2018: Unhinged,’ the approximately one-minute ad is filled with dramatic images that invoke anarchy and are sure to rile up Republican voters – particularly those blue-collar voters in the Midwest and Rust Belt who put President Donald Trump in office.
The ad focuses entirely on controversial figures in the Democratic Party giving damning statements or participating in controversial photo shoots, highlighting some of the left’s greatest hits, so to speak, when it comes to attacking Trump.
It played in full on ‘Fox & Friends’ on Wednesday morning.
The ad begins with footage of photo shoot where Kathy Griffin holds up a bloody, severed head of President Donald Trump.
‘A few years ago the ideas we talked about where thought to be fringe ideas, radical ideas, extremist ideas,’ says liberal Senator Bernie Sanders in a voice over that kicks off the ad. ‘Those ideas are now mainstream.’
The next voice over features Democratic House Leader Nancy Pelosi saying: ‘I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country.’
Then comes Democratic firebrand Maxine Waters at her rally in Los Angeles on Saturday, calling on the public to assail administration figures when they see them.
‘If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,’ she said.
